How good do I have to be to join Skate Adelaide 2007? If you can skate, brake and turn confidently you will be able to complete most of the skating tours. Some fitness training is recommended, our minimum skating speed for participants is 5 km in 45 minutes.
"What will I miss out on if I don't go?" Places are strictly limited to 50 skaters, so book now to avoid disappointment.
A typical day will start after breakfast with a tour briefing and outline of the day's skating. Public toilets are available along the skate tours and there will be opportunities to rest and/or buy snacks or drinks. By lunch time we will have arrived at our half-way point. Some skaters will elect to finish their day's skating at the lunch spot returning to the hotel after lunch via guided public transportation ( bus, tram or train). In the afternoon the return leg of the skating day begins, with most tours being completed by 4:00pm. Dinner is normally around 7:00pm, so there is heaps of time to shower and freshen up before the stories of the day are recounted over a cool drink and a delicious meal. Some evenings there will be activities organised, other nights you will be free to explore the City. With 50 other skaters around, you're sure to find someone to hang out with. That's a typical day on Skate Adelaide 2007.
Of course there are rest days and tours of Haigh's and Cooper's and WOMADelaide will be on over the weekend as well. You can join in on the social activities or you can do your own thing, all we ask is that you nominate what you will be attending so that we don't leave you behind :)
